Abstract
The objectives of this research study were to examine the relationships among organizational socialization, psychological characteristics, qualities of work life, and work behaviors of hotel employees. This quantitative research utilized questionnaires to collecting data from 400 employees of five-star hotels in Bangkok.
Significant results found are as following: (a) organizational socialization as a whole and at each level were positively related to work behaviors of the hotel employees; (b) the organizational socialization were also positively related to employees’ psychological characteristics were positively related to employees’ work behaviors; (d) qualities of work life in all and every aspcet were positively related to employees’ work behaviors; and (e) organizational socialization and psychological characteristic of achievement motivation togather exerter 41.1 percent predictive power on employees’ work behaviors. The results indicate the significance and need of the organizational socialization in developing employees’ desirable work behaviors and a need of inducing employees’ achievement motivation in order to improve employees’ work behaviors as well.
