Abstract
This research is to study the characteristics and to examine the relationships among perceived organizational culture, the big five personality types, antisocial personality, and self-esteem, and to develop a prediction equation of relations of the mentioned variables. The sample were 429 prisoners in Suratthani Central Prison. Research instruments were the questionnaires and the Inventories. The results of the research indicated that:
1. Perceived organizational culture: Uncertainty Avoidance, Institutional Collectivism or Collectivism I, Power Distance, the big five personality types: Conscientiousness, Agreeableness and Self-esteem were at rather high level. Gender Egalitarianism was at rather low level. In addition, other factors were at medium level.
2. There were dimension differences between Individual characteristics, the result of judged a case and self-esteem.
3. While Neuroticism and Antisocial personality had negative relation with self-esteem, perceived organizational culture: In-group Collectivism or Collectivism II, Future Orientation, Performance Orientation, the big five personality types: Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness had positive relation with self-esteem.
4. The result of regression analysis showed that Extraversion, Neuroticism, and Conscientiousness could effectively predict self-esteem at 25.4%.
