Abstract
This study aims to analysis the preparation of business firms for ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by using Agile organization profile as analysis framework. Findings of this study are as follows :-
- Agile attributes mean of domestic market oriented firms are lower than those of ASEAN market firms in four agile attributes that are multi – venturing capabilities, skill and knowledge enhancing technologies, products with substantial value – addition and rapid partnership formation
- Five factors on preparing for AEC of domestic business firms have lower means significantly than those of ASEAN market level firms 1) human resource competence and developing 2) Research and Development (R&D) and manufacturing innovation 3) wage system, skill standard, and diversity management 4) Prevention of human resource scramble and 5) net connect & enterprise resource planning system
- Culture of change in organization and technology development to enhance performance efficiency have positive influence on talent management for readiness to AEC, and languages skill enhancement for AEC.
This study suggests that domestic business oriented firms should implement those factors on preparing for AEC which lower mean of performance than those of ASEAN market level firms to the same level of these firms in order to get capabilities to do business in AEC context competitively. Domestic firms should adopt culture of change as well as technology development for productivity improvement into organization practice, bearing talent management and language skill enhancement for more readiness to AEC.
