Abstract
In this thesis, the researcher studies (1) participation behaviors in a hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) system, psychological empowerment, attitudes towards HACCP, and the organizational climate for selected employees at a processed chicken factory. The researcher also examines (2) the relationships between psychological empowerment, attitudes towards the HACCP system, organizational climate, and participation behaviors in an HACCP system on the part of these employees. Finally, the researcher frames (3) a forecast of participation behaviors in the HACCP system with psychological empowerment, attitudes toward the HACCP system, and organizational climate as predictive variables. The sample population consisted of 350 employees at a processed chicken factory. Research instruments consisted of a questionnaire eliciting data concerning demographical characteristics; a questionnaire pertaining to participation behaviors in the HACCP system; a questionnaire regarding psychological empowerment; a questionnaire dealing with attitudes toward the HACCP system; and a questionnaire involving organizational climate. Using techniques of descriptive statistics, the researcher analyzed the data collected in terms of percentage, frequency distribution, mean and standard deviation. Hypothesis testing was carried out by applications of Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis.
